A surgery to remove the whole breast that has cancer. Some of the lymph nodes under the arm may also be removed, which is known as a sentinel lymph node biopsy, and then analyzed under a microscope to see if they contain cancer cells.

Dr. Jennifer Daniels, MD, F.A.C.S. has been the Medical Director of the Breast Center at Ohio Valley since its inception in 2014 and is also the Chief Quality Officer for the Ohio Valley Surgical Hospital. She also serves on the Medical Executive Committee and Peer Review Committee at Ohio Valley. Dr. Daniels practices general surgery, including advanced laparoscopic procedures (colon resections and hernia repair) and also performs minimally invasive treatments for varicose veins and venous reflux.
THE BREAST CENTER AT OHIO VALLEY was awarded the Designated Comprehensive Breast Imaging Center.
